PREPARING YOUR WRITING FOR PUBLICATION

(or How to Perfect Your Prose and Story-telling Ability)

Purpose: You really want to see your work in print. You’ve got talent, you’re prepared to devote time to your creativity, you believe in yourself. But your manuscript is not what you believe it should be, or could be.

This workshop will expose you to various forms of writing, to see where you fit in. Perhaps the novel you want to write really is better suited to become a memoir. Perhaps the ballad you wrote can be turned into a short story. Maybe you just want to know where to start! This workshop will explore the nuances of language, storytelling, creativity, and dramatic structure, as well as the inherent qualities that make a person a writer. We will also study the tools, tricks and habits every writer needs in order to produce quality material.

“Having imagination, it takes you an hour to write a paragraph that, if you were unimaginative, would take you only a minute.”

~ Franklin P. Adams
